Terms of Service
Effective September 4, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Steadied, the operator of www.steadied.app (the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.
They are written in plain language on purpose. Steadied's whole posture is honest measurement, and that includes the paperwork. The short version: the service is a self-directed instrument, it is not care or advice, your trading decisions are yours, and you can leave, and delete your data, at any time.
How your data is handled is covered in the Steadied Privacy Policy, available at steadied.app/privacy.
§ 01
What Steadied is
Steadied is a subscription web app for traders. You record readings of your own state (check-ins, 0 to 10 ratings, short written reflections) and the service shows those readings back to you: trends over time, patterns worth your attention, and brief self-directed exercises. If you choose, it sends reminders by browser push, email, or Telegram.
That is the product: an instrument you use on yourself, at your own pace, by your own choice. It only knows what you tell it.
§ 02
What Steadied is not
This is the most important section in the document. Please actually read it.
Not therapy, and not medical or psychological care. Steadied was built by a practicing psychotherapist, but using it does not make you anyone's patient or client, and it creates no therapist-client or other clinical relationship. The service is not psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, or treatment of any condition, and it is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional. If readings stay hard for a long stretch, the right move is a clinician, not more app.
Not a crisis service. No one monitors Steadied in real time, and the service cannot respond to an emergency. Section 3 says what to do instead.
Not financial or trading advice. Steadied never tells you to trade, what to trade, or when to trade. Nothing in the service is a recommendation, a signal, or a strategy. Trading carries substantial risk of loss; your trading decisions and their outcomes, including every loss, are yours alone.
§ 03
In an emergency
If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you are in immediate danger, stop using the app and reach human help now. In the United States, call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911. Outside the United States, contact your local emergency number or a local crisis line. Steadied cannot see an emergency in real time and cannot respond to one.
§ 04
Who can use Steadied
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. By creating an account, you confirm both. Steadied is not directed at minors.
§ 05
Your account
- Give us a working email address and keep it current. It is how we reach you about your subscription, security, and changes to these terms.
- Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. Activity under your account is your responsibility, so tell us at support@steadied.app if you suspect someone else has access.
- One account per person. Please do not share or transfer it.
§ 06
Subscription and billing
- Standard trial. One 7-day Standard trial per account if not previously used. A promotion code starts your paid membership right away, in place of the trial. It applies to Standard monthly and Standard quarterly. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Beta membership has no trial, and Standard annual has no trial.
- Price. Standard membership costs $30 per month, $80 every 3 months, or $300 per year, as listed at checkout. Beta members pay $5 for their first month and $15 per month after that, and keep that monthly rate for the life of the membership. New beta memberships are accepted through September 22, 2026; accounts created after that date receive Standard terms. Alpha testers keep full access free of charge; that is a closed legacy group, not a plan anyone can join. Taxes may be added where required.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly, every 3 months, or yearly, until you cancel. For an eligible Standard monthly or quarterly membership, the first paid period begins when the free trial ends.
- Cancellation. Cancel anytime from your account settings, or by emailing support@steadied.app. If you cancel during a trial, access may end immediately. It will never continue past the trial end. For a paid membership, cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for: you keep access until then and are not charged again. We do not refund partial periods.
- Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe; Steadied never sees or stores card numbers.
- Price changes. If pricing changes, we will email you at least 30 days before it affects you, and the new price applies only from your next renewal. If you do not want it, cancel before then.
§ 07
Automated safety features
Steadied includes an automated safety check. Free text you submit is screened, automatically and at the moment you submit it, for language associated with a risk of serious harm. When the check matches, the service may temporarily pause your access and show crisis resources in its place, with a brief check-in before normal use resumes.
Three honest things about this feature:
- It is a safety mechanism, not monitoring. No person reads your entries in real time, and a pause is not a judgment about you. It is the app stepping aside so that something more important can come first.
- It is imperfect. Automated detection can miss language it should catch and can flag language it should not. Steadied makes no promise that any particular entry will be detected and no promise of intervention. Do not rely on the service to notice a crisis.
- It is not an emergency plan. Your emergency plan is in section 3.
Please do not try to defeat, game, or probe the safety check. It exists for the rare day it matters.
§ 08
Acceptable use
Use Steadied for yourself, lawfully. In particular, do not:
- share, sell, or transfer your account, or use someone else's;
- enter another person's private information into the service;
- copy, scrape, or harvest the service or its content by automated means;
- reverse-engineer, probe, overload, or interfere with the service, its security, or its safety features;
- use the service to build a competing product;
- use the service for anything unlawful.
Accounts that break these rules can be suspended or closed (section 12).
§ 09
Your entries, our service
What you record is yours. You own your check-ins, ratings, and reflections. You grant Steadied only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that material in order to run the service for you, including the automated processing described in section 7 and in the Privacy Policy. The permission ends when the material is deleted, and you can delete your data yourself at any time in Settings → Account.
The service is ours. The software, design, text, exercises, and names that make up Steadied belong to Steadied or its licensors. While your account is in good standing, you have a personal, non-transferable right to use the service. No other rights are granted.
§ 10
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Steadied disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We work to keep the service accurate and online; we do not promise either.
Just as important: readings, trends, and patterns shown in the service describe what you reported. They are not predictions, diagnoses, or promises that anything, trading results, distress ratings, behavior, will change.
§ 11
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- Steadied is not liable for trading losses. The service does not direct trades (section 2), and what you do in the market is yours.
- Steadied is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost data.
- Steadied's total liability for all claims combined is capped at the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations; where that is true, they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
§ 12
Ending things
You can leave anytime. Cancel from your account settings, delete your data in Settings → Account, or both. Deletion is self-service.
We can suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, use the service unlawfully, or put the service or other people at risk, with notice and a chance to fix it where that is reasonable. If we terminate your access without cause, or shut the service down, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
Sections that by their nature should survive, including sections 9, 10, and 11, survive termination.
§ 13
Changes to these terms
As the service evolves, these terms will too. For material changes we will give notice, by email or in the app, before they take effect, and we will update the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it; if you do not, cancel and we part on good terms.
§ 14
Contact, and the small print
Questions about these terms: support@steadied.app.
If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce a provision right away, we have not waived it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy (steadied.app/privacy), are the entire agreement between you and Steadied about the service.
