A clinical instrument for traders.

The trade that costs you the most starts as a feeling.

Check your state before the next trade. In seconds, Steadied gives you a reading and the next step: trade, reset first, or stop.

Steadied is a trading psychology app built on nearly a decade of trading and over two decades of practice as a psychotherapist.

One trade, checked

“I need to win it back.”

Your stop just got hit. You’re about to go again at twice your planned size.

A fictional trader. No account needed. Nothing you tap is saved. See the window of tolerance

Time to see what your off-plan trades are costing you.

No more telling yourself it was only one trade. Steadied helps you see the truth, in your own numbers.

Honesty with yourself is the first edge you build.

Those trades usually start in a few familiar moments:

Steadied checks your state in those moments. Over weeks, your readings show which states those trades came from.

What the off-plan trades cost

Example: a fictional trader's month, 34 trades. Totals count only the trades with an amount entered.

On-plan wins
+$2,18011 of 12 trades with an amount
Off-plan wins
+$4103 of 4 trades with an amount
On-plan losses
-$1,2608 of 9 trades with an amount
Off-plan losses
-$2,3407 of 9 trades with an amount

Understand the moment before the trade.

A revenge trade starts in your body before your finger reaches the button. Maybe it's heat in your chest or a pull toward the order ticket. Steadied trains you to notice those signals. Each check-in asks you to look inside your own skin and name what's there. That way you catch the signal while it's still a sensation, before it becomes an urge and then a trade you didn't want. Clinicians call this skill interoception: the sense of what's happening inside your body. Here, you practice it in real time, every trading day.

The window of tolerance

Your nervous system trades in a range too.

Psychiatrist Dan Siegel coined the term window of tolerance in 1999: the range where you can feel what is happening and still think clearly. Think of it as your range. Tilt is trading outside it, above or below. Many clinicians use polyvagal theory as a working map of both edges, though its biology is disputed. Stopped out on a big loss, a trader can run hot over the top, then check out below the floor.

Window of tolerance

In your range

In polyvagal terms: Ventral vagal · present and engaged

In your body
Breath steady. The nerves are there, and you can still think.
At the desk
You take the setups in your plan, at the size you wrote, and the loss you planned for.
What Steadied does
Steadied calls this Centered. Feeling something is fine here; calm is not the requirement.

Stress, poor sleep and a run of losses can narrow the window. Regular practice can widen it over time. Steadied's daily check-ins and resets are built to be that practice.

Steadied is one instrument with four parts, each built for a different point in your trading day:

  • Before the open

The pre-market scan. A body-level read of your distress, taken cold before the first chart. The day starts with a measurement instead of a mood.

  • Before the trade

The state check. Where you are right now on a signed scale from Overcharged through Centered to Shut Down, with a zone and a verdict attached: trade, reset first, or stop.

  • Underneath all of it

The pattern map. An assessment that maps the patterns behind your departures from the plan, so the same behavior on the same setup stops looking like bad luck.

  • After the trade

The outcome check. Rule adherence, trade by trade: each trade is measured against your plan, on it or off it, and the broken rule is named rather than described.

Three of the four run before the trade. The outcome check connects each decision to what happened next.

This is one moment. Steadied helps you understand the pattern.

How the method works, in full

Your edge, on the screen.

Steadied floats above your platform for the whole session. Your current state and your plan sit beside the chart, with a photo of the people you trade for, right where each decision gets made. Think of it as a risk manager for the person clicking the button.

Hard to bullshit yourself with that looking back at you.

Steadied opens as its own window above your platform, as a column, a strip or a tile.

Tall. Steadied sits as a column beside your platform, in its own slice of the screen, while the position is open.

Desktop Chrome or Edge keeps the window above your platform. Other browsers open it as an ordinary window: fine on a second screen, but it will not stay on top.

From the first traders

“It's mostly the space it creates between me and the market.”

“I feel more confident because I don't feel so alone anymore when I freak out. I know now that the app helps me, so when my emotions rise, I know I can use the app and interrupt it.”

Laura

“I have a market edge. Steadied is my personal edge; it keeps me in the driver's seat.”

“I'm an emotional person, so I'm an emotional trader. Climbing out of the fog to say ‘WTF just happened?’ after realizing the damage to my account is a painful, humbling experience I'm far too familiar with. While interacting with Steadied, I use my emotions and physical cues as a strength to detect potential hijacking. I can drive the bus or be a passenger.”

Carlos T.

“I used it for 2 weeks so far and it's like having a new trading partner with really good habits that rub off on you!”

“It has helped slow me down which was annoying at first but when it slows you down it's helping you feel things and put words to what I am feeling and it has got me taking better trades and not feeling like I am missing every opportunity. It has its quirks but you can tell it was made by someone who understands this stuff.”

Frequently asked questions

What is Steadied?

Steadied is a trading psychology app for independent traders. It checks your state before the open, while a position is open, and after the close, and gives you the next step for the state you are in. It is built on a clinical model from a psychotherapist who trades.

How is Steadied different from a journal?

A journal records the trade. Steadied measures the trader. Your journal shows what happened after the close; Steadied works in the moments before and during the trade, when the rule you wrote is hardest to reach.

Does Steadied import my trades?

No, by design. Steadied measures the trader, not the trades. What it tracks (your state, the urge, the body tells, whether a trade was on plan) is not in a broker file, and the manual check-in puts a deliberate pause between the feeling and the click.

Does it work with my trading platform?

Steadied opens as its own window. In desktop Chrome or Edge it stays on top of your platform, as a column, a strip, or a tile. In other browsers it opens as an ordinary window. Your readings sync to your phone. It does not connect to your broker or platform.

Does Steadied give trade signals or financial advice?

No. Steadied does not give market opinions, signals, or financial advice, and it is not a replacement for therapy. When a feature uses AI, the AI only interprets your readings inside the clinical model. There is no chat and no coaching.

Is there a free version?

No. You can try the State Map example without an account. Using the app takes a Standard membership, which includes every feature. See the pricing page for current plans.

How we handle your data

Steadied stores the check-ins and reflections you choose to enter so it can show your history, identify possible patterns, and provide the features you request. Your information is encrypted in transit and stored on managed cloud infrastructure. Your entries are not routinely reviewed by people.

Steadied does not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with employers, brokers, or trading platforms.

When a feature uses Anthropic's API, only the information needed to provide that feature is sent for processing. By default, Anthropic does not use API data to train its models. The AI has one job there: interpret those measurements and report what your readings show. There is no chat and no coaching.

You can turn off reminders, request a copy of your information, or delete your account and entries from Settings. If they exist, certain safety-event records and billing records required for tax and accounting are retained, as explained in the full Privacy Notice. Read the full Privacy Notice →

Not financial advice. Not trade signals. Not a replacement for therapy.
